Not my best run, but here's a video of me playing.

Thanks for playing and sharing your run!

Hi Ezra! My wife has been trying to play Domino Grove on her Apple iPad in safari. Before the recent update, during every second game she played the tab would reload part way through the game and she'd have to start over. Since the update it sometimes saves the games state and sometimes doesn't, but now it reloads the tab part way through nearly every game. Let me know if you want any further details and I will try to dig them up.

Hello! Thanks for reporting this, I'd love for it to work smoothly on Safari. That sounds frustrating about it reloading partway through. A couple questions:

* When the game doesn't save, does the whole thing start fresh or does it load from a couple turns back?

* Does there seem to be any pattern to when the game reloads? (like, after you place a piece or after X seconds or something)

Looking forward to finding a fix for this!

Hello,

Not sure if you are supporting web on mobile, but I got a bug where the piece stopped moving mid-drag. (I think I got a notification when that happened). Restarting the game reopens the save but without any piece to place, so I can't proceed.

The game was interesting for the amount I played at least.

We are supporting web on mobile, this is a really good bug to know about. Thank you for reporting it! We'll fix it shortly.

Just pushed an update that fixes the issue on my device, does it work on yours as well?

Sorry, I missed this message. Trying it now. I'm able to play again. Will let you know if anything comes up. Thank you ~

So adictive!!

(+3)

Hooray! I finally got a score over 300!

Woah congrats! We were wondering when someone would break 300.

il gioco è super carino!! ho raggiunto 236 <3

però ho provato a premere un po' di tasti sulla tastiera a caso, e uhhhh .... non so che ho fatto.

Really fun game, and everything is so polished and well put together!

So good
The background music is magical

Wow, I've become totally addicted to this game. There is much deeper strategy in this game than I initially thought and it's totally sucked me in. My PB so far is 298.

I've also discovered that this game is just as interesting if you play with the goal of getting a low score rather than a high score. It involves a little more luck, and makes the end of the game really strategic. The lowest score I've achieved so far is 12.

Really cute and nice puzzle game! I really enjoyed it. Really reminds me of the board game "Orchard" - have you played it? I think there was a digital version around the net, or you can PnP (print 'n' play) it really easily.

(+3)

the game theory behind this goes crazy. i cant help but wonder what perfect play would look like, if there's algorithms that could be designed to find optimal placements, what the theoretical maximum score is under different parameters

(+2)

Right?? I was delighted to discover how deep this system was. I honestly think math papers could be written about optimal play. Probably overlaps a little bit with map coloring problems too?

(+2)

very nice game, my PB is 241. I think their are bugs in IPhone Firefox, the game reload every now and then.

Hi! I'm glad you like the game and that's a pretty good PB! Could you elaborate a bit on the game reload thing? If it's something like "Loading game for first time" that might just be because we're live updating the game as we add new features. If it's something else, I'd like to hear more so I could take a look and try to fix it!

this is VERY nice!
can you please add keyboard support for rotating the dominos? something like "q" and "e" maybe?
i am asking because "right click" doesn't work on my macbook air m2's touchpad
thank you!

(+2)

This is a very good idea! On it!

(+2)

FYI this is implemented and should be in the next build. Thanks for the feedback!!

(+2)

thanks!
this is definitely a game that would work on the switch!

(+3)

Impressive how elegant the pairing mechanism is. Really lovely game that's a blast to play.

Thanks! :)

(+3)

love it!  nice sounds!

Thank you!

(+2)

I think this is the highest that my 10 score average has been so far :)

(+2)

Love this game! Super zen. I love how satisfying it is building out your grid with such simple and easy to understand mechanics. Really well done! Plus I love how the stats encourage me to try again to beat all the other commenters >:D

Hehe I'm glad you like it, that's a great average!

(+2)

I like it! Gonna quit while im at the top:

That's an amazing score!

(+2)

(+1)

Wow, you topped your top! I think this is the highest anyone has gotten so far...

Whooooa, what's your strategy? Funny to see that all our averages hover just below 190...

I wonder who will be first to break 300.

I went with a triangle build for this one! but of course depends on the pairs you're dealt...

(+1)

My best thus far, slowly making my way past the 200 mark.

(+2)

So, who is going to beat my score?

(+2)

Me

(+3)

Curse you Lili!! (good job)

Can you get a higher 10 game average tho? 🤔

;)

Whhhaaaaaattt. You know, I think I'm started to question my 'shapes first' strategy. Especially with the wildcards comboing with color.

(+2)

You've got to be flexible I think!

(+2)

Buh, I'm struggling to break 200! I can't fathom 250+...

(+3)

so clever...well done and the feedback is super cool every time you place a domino. I wonder if having the choice of the next domino or at least knowing it wouldn't make the whole thing a bit more tactical.

(+2)

I considered adding a preview or choice for the next domino. I think it would work but it would change the feeling of the game in a way that I didn't want. I'm prone to analysis paralysis so I try to make games that don't trigger that in myself and having more information on your turn would balloon the time spent searching for the perfect combination of moves. I also like the feeling of trying to hedge your bets because you don't know what will come next.

(+2)

yeah you're right the feeling is completely different it's just a "deal with it " it's more instinctive... i understand.. in any case it's a super cool game

Thank you!

(+3)

The googly-eyed wildcard is such a nice touch. *chef's kiss*
